For 2016/2017 our chosen charity is the Lancaster Neonatal Unit at Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
We are proud supporters of the NNU which is funded through Morecambe Bay Hospitals trust and relies on local donations. The unit is a fantastic facility that supports premature babies and their families in the local area. The unit provides 2 areas for a maximum of 2 infants requiring intensive care and a further 8 for babies requiring high dependency or special care.
1/10 babies are born prematurely so that means 1/10 of our tiny Piranha swimmers have benefited from the support of our fantastic local service. Because of this we chose to lend a helping hand to the unit.
Every swim term we arrange a fundraising event that allows us to regularly donate to the unit and support them on their mission to care for preterm babies and their families.
Keep a look out for our up and coming fundraising events to see how you too can lend a helping hand to our tiny friends!
